The ToolMan's Workshop
Page 2

Rob had so much fun at the dragstip in Bowling Green Cruise-In 2008 that he got the bug.  The horsepower bug.  I'm sure Mr. Moore had something to do with this also, it's got his fingerprints all over this project.  Although, Rob held a bit of ground and didn't come over to the Dark Side (BigBlock).  This is another example of a very nicely running all original C3 that just couldn't be left alone.  The original 350 was pulled and placed in storage while a new 383 is put in its place.  And of course, since the motor is out, why not  swap that stock A/C for a new Hot Rod Air unit?
The day began with a prepped engine bay.  The original 350 all ready to be pulled.
And this is the 383 that will be going in soon.  Ain't she a beaut!?!?
Now everything is getting hooked up to the cherry picker.  Hey, that's Snowman offering advice.  He's REALLY good at removing stuff from C3s!  Especially seats!!
There's the ToolMan himself on the left and I swear, Patrick must have a few twins or clones running around.  The guy doesn't even live in Houston but he's here helping just about every one of us in Houston, Conroe, Richmond, cross country trips to pick up cars, etc.
Larry and Swenke also showed up to work.  Wow, Swenke actually got dirty.  Watch out the rest of you Starbucks folks, this could be you next week!
Since the vette was on Rob's lift already, the cherry picker had a hard time getting high enough to clear the nose with the engine and tranny connected as one.  No problem.....guys, lean on the fender.  Not enough?....let some air out of the front tires.....problem solved!
Too bad SafetyMan Tuna wasn't there.  Rob's oilpan got crushed and a hazard area was blocked off by cones.
It was him...no, it was him.....
